BUSINESS NEWS

  • Kelly Jones Sage, who has served four months as president and CEO of the Longmont Economic Development Partnership, said she was surprised by the community’s positive mood. GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Longmont drivers face lane closures on Hover Street today from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. due to bridge rehab with detours in place until December 22—Boulder County’s Sugarloaf Road at Betasso Road will have lane closures and a temporary three-way traffic signal causing travel delays into November.  Longmont Times-Call

SPORTS NEWS

  • Frederick won 28-14 over Silver Creek as Sonny Delpizzo ran for his 11th touchdown to help his team tie at the top of the league. Other high school games saw Erie extend a 21-game streak while Mead and Lyons posted strong defense in Week 7 — local teams are gearing up for action in Week 8.  Longmont Times-Call
  • BuffZone’s Brian Howell and Pat Rooney preview CU Buffs sports as the football team aims to pull an upset of No. 22 Iowa State today at Folsom Field (1:35 p.m. on ESPN). The report also notes that the volleyball and soccer teams are in strong form while basketball practice continues.  Longmont Times-Call
  • CU coach JR Payne said that Colorado freshman Logyn Greer from Pennsylvania shows strong potential on the Buffs women's basketball team with her all-around skills. Greer is working to adjust to college pace and improve her defense and communication while learning from her teammates.  Longmont Times-Call
  • On Friday, the No. 24 CU Buffaloes women’s soccer team beat Arizona State 2-0 at Prentup Field with a goal each from Reagan Kotschau and Jace Holley and strong save work from goalie Jordan Nytes, who set a new mark for shutouts. The win was their fourth in five games and kept them unbeaten at home with an 8-0-2 record, and they will head to Utah next week starting with a game against the Utes on Thursday at 7:00 p.m.  Longmont Times-Call
