- ➤ The Boulder County Sheriff's Office is searching for a six-foot-tall metal rooster statue missing from the 11000 block of Quail Road between South Martin Street and North 119th Street near Longmont—taken Sept. 4 or Sept. 5—and anyone who sees it should call and mention case number 25-5006. - ➤ Today, Longmont Oktoberfest kicks off at Thompson Park where neighbors gather for live music, fun games, and an artisan market — tickets range from $25 to $54 as proceeds benefit local nonprofits. Longmont Times-Call
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Submissions are open for the Boulder St. Vrain Watershed Art Contest for K-12 students in Boulder County to create artwork that shows why they are grateful for water. The contest—now in its fourth year—offers art supplies for elementary students and cash for older students, and entries must be two-dimensional—photographs and digital art are not accepted and submissions are due Nov. 9. - ➤ On Thursday, three Longmont City Council candidates held an open forum at Left Hand Brewing — they discussed issues like sustainability, land use, and the future impact of the Sundance Film Festival. - ➤ Buckley Space Force Base held its annual remembrance ceremony this week to honor the service and sacrifice of U.S. prisoners of war and those still missing in action.
