BUSINESS NEWS
- ➤ On Thursday, September 18, the FTC and Colorado, along with other state attorneys general, filed a lawsuit against Ticketmaster and its parent company for deceptive practices that inflated ticket prices using fake accounts—causing consumers to pay more than advertised. The suit alleges that brokers purchased tickets in bulk and resold them at higher markups, a tactic that may affect live event pricing nationwide. Colorado Hometown Weekly

- ➤ Las Barracas near Longmont was named to the first national list of Endangered Latinx Landmarks by Latinos in Heritage Conservation — the historic barracks once housed migrant workers and their families and county officials plan to work with the community to decide on the best way to preserve its legacy. - ➤ A new Tibetan and Himalayan Cultural Festival will take place Saturday at the Longmont Museum at 400 Quail Road where visitors will watch a Bhutanese film at 2:15 p.m., enjoy a photo exhibit and join in Tibetan dancing—featuring chai and dumplings—and learn from organizer Padma Baimacuo about her culture. ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Longmont residents can now explore the updated Indicators website that tracks the city’s progress on air quality, tree planting, and parks access with simple graphs and interactive tools. At Wednesday’s advisory board meeting, staff reviewed the new user-friendly features and ongoing projects such as improved recycling, transit seating, and a regional energy code—steps aimed at reducing emissions and boosting sustainability. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Longmont will review and update its design standards for public infrastructure—including streets, sewers, water, landscaping and other requirements—at a public meeting on Oct. 2 at 5 p.m. at the Development Services Center, 385 Kimbark St.; the City Council will consider the changes in October while transportation standards will be reviewed in early 2026 with additional updates later this year.
