ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • In Longmont, a car ran off the road, hit two parked cars in a driveway and crashed into a fence at Ninth Avenue and Lashley Street on Thursday afternoon—police arrived minutes later and reopened the eastbound lanes by about 4:20 p.m. after towing the car.  Longmont Times-Call

CRIME NEWS

  • Longmont police arrested two individuals for DUI on Wednesday—one at 1:40 a.m. at Main Street and First Avenue and another in the 1800 block of Boston Avenue—and recorded a domestic incident arrest while taking theft, fraud, and burglary reports from other calls.  Longmont Times-Call

CULTURE NEWS

  • On Sept. 4, Longmont hosted a Mark Trippensee concert at Bootstrap Brewing Company and local libraries held book and author meetings. Today and over the weekend, community events will include a Sunset Soirée at the museum—market fairs and family runs in Berthoud and Niwot add more local flavor.  Longmont Times-Call
  • Many stage productions are showing this week in Boulder County — from classic plays and musicals to immersive new works at venues like Miners Alley Playhouse, Curious Theatre Company, and Longmont Theatre Company.   • On Wednesday, Hygiene Elementary students watched as Principal Renee Collier and teacher Maridee Moll opened a Pluto-themed time capsule sealed in 2016 as part of the Hawk Air project—an event that linked the school’s creative space challenges to NASA’s New Horizons flyby.  Longmont Times-Call

  • Colorado health officials will let anyone 6 months and older get a COVID shot without a prescription today—after Gov. Jared Polis issued a new public health order—to ease access amid varying guidelines as pharmacies update their supplies.  CBS Colorado
