  • Volunteers can help care for Colorado public lands by joining projects like trail upkeep, native seed planting, and wildlife checks. GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Today, Longmont will fly an unmanned drone to inspect power poles and electrical equipment as part of the city's maintenance program — flights will cover areas along North 75th Street between St. Vrain Road and Colo. 66 in the Hygiene and Lyons areas between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. — with operations expected to end by Sept. 5.  Longmont Times-Call

SPORTS NEWS

  • Sincere Brown transferred to Colorado from Campbell and has settled with CU Buffs receivers after an initial rough practice in the mountains—he is preparing for Friday night's season opener against Georgia Tech.  Longmont Times-Call
  • Coach Andreu Swasey, the first-year strength and conditioning leader for the CU Buffs, has helped players like Jordan Seaton and Anquin Barnes get stronger and faster with old school workouts; head coach Deion Sanders, who had bladder cancer removed in the spring, praised Swasey’s work—players now report increased confidence and better performance in the weight room.  Longmont Times-Call
  • On Aug. 7, former Buffs made NFL highlights when LaJohntay Wester scored a punt return touchdown for the Ravens and Shedeur Sanders threw two touchdown passes for the Browns.
