  • Longmont’s Harvest Junction shopping center is converting a former TGI Friday’s restaurant at 125 Ken Pratt Blvd for the new location of Nana’s Dim Sum & Dumplings—an expanding Asian restaurant that offers dim sum and dumplings. The restaurant will open this fall.  Longmont Times-Call

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Boulder Valley and St. Vrain Valley school districts are accepting petitions from candidates to run for the November school board election with forms due August 29. In Boulder Valley, four candidates are contesting for three open seats in District E after incumbent Beth Niznik is not seeking reelection because she is starting a doctorate program in educational policy — in St. Vrain Valley, five candidates are competing for four openings.  Colorado Hometown Weekly

  • The Denver Post released a list of 101 top high school football players set to compete in the 2025 season—this list includes local talent like Joey Foot from Longmont and players chosen from prospect lists, all-state teams, and 2024 stats.   • Colorado sophomore Joseph Williams, a former quarterback who transferred from Tulsa, is eager to make his mark as a receiver for the Buffs this season.
