- ➤ Freewheel Limited, Longmont's roller skating group, will hold its third annual Megan’s Moon Skate fundraiser at the Boulder County Fairgrounds on August 15 and 16 to raise money for Recovery Café Longmont—admission is $13 with a $6 skate rental fee. Skate sessions run Friday from 4 to 9:30 p.m. and Saturday from noon to 7 p.m., with a special adult session on Saturday from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. Longmont Times-Call
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Longmont police issued warnings for trespassing at Sugarmill Road at 12:45 a.m. and Hover Street at 8:40 a.m., arrested a DUI suspect near East Ninth Avenue and Pace Street, and reported a stolen vehicle in the 2200 block of 14th Avenue at 5:26 a.m.—they also handled fraud reports on Boxelder Drive, Merriman Place and Kimbark Street along with a theft report on Pace Street. - ➤ CU Buffs women's basketball has released its nonconference schedule — featuring eight home games at the CU Events Center, a three-game tournament in Hawaii, and a road game in Louisville. The season begins with an exhibition at Colorado School of Mines on Oct. 29 and an opener against New Mexico on Nov. 6 — head coach JR Payne says the schedule will challenge the team for Big 12 play.
