CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Former state senator Sonya Jaquez Lewis was charged with a felony for allegedly faking two letters of support to influence a public servant during an ethics probe and turned herself in on July 6 after being charged on July 2 by the Denver District Attorney’s Office — she will be arraigned in early August. - ➤ Members of the Boulder County 4-H Horse Judging Team placed second at the state conference in Fort Collins in June, qualifying them for national competitions. The team will host a benefit horse show fundraiser at 8 a.m. Saturday, July 26 at the Boulder County Fairgrounds indoor arena in Longmont—proceeds will help cover travel costs for upcoming competitions in Oklahoma City, Tulsa and Columbus.
