  • Mike Butler invites community members to join a free series of discussions called Pints & Perspectives held every other Thursday this summer and fall, hosted by the School of Statesmanship, Stewardship, and Service in partnership with Left Hand Brewery. CRIME NEWS

  • Mohamed Soliman was indicted on 12 federal hate crime counts for throwing ignited Molotov cocktails at a protest near Boulder County Courthouse on June 1—an attack that injured 15 people and one dog—and his next court appearance is scheduled for Friday.  CBS Colorado

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Longmont resident Zach Blazek warned that a Senate committee on Energy and Natural Resources is debating language from Utah Sen. Mike Lee that may force the sale of public lands to ease the housing shortage—putting trailheads to 13 fourteeners and other popular outdoor spots at risk. This debate has raised fears that treasured natural areas could be lost if the provision passes.  Longmont Times-Call
  • RTD's Board of Directors voted to study a rail line that would connect Denver, Longmont and Fort Collins through Boulder County—pending a review of cost estimates. A new committee with officials from RTD, the Colorado Department of Transportation and the Front Range Passenger Rail District will examine funding options and negotiate fees with BNSF—potentially paving the way for the line to open by 2029.  Colorado Hometown Weekly

  • The Colorado football team added Maurice Williams Jr., a three-star cornerback from New Orleans, to its 2026 class yesterday after he flipped his commitment from Liberty to join head coach Deion Sanders.
