- ➤ Over the weekend, Longmont police arrested five people for suspected DUI — they also responded to auto theft, crashes, assaults, and an indecent exposure. Longmont Times-Call
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Students at Eagle Crest Elementary are taking part in Project Launch, a free summer program that combines an all-school read-aloud, STEM building challenges, and a visit from a traveling inflatable planetarium to help boost math and literacy skills. The program runs full days four times a week in June (16 days in total) and is supported by over 350 teachers and multiple funding sources. Longmont Times-Call

- ➤ The RTD Board is voting today at 3 p.m. at 1660 Blake Street on a potential partnership with the State of Colorado and Front Range Passenger Rail to build the northwest rail line connecting Longmont to Fort Collins. If approved, a mix of new state funds and RTD’s FasTracks sales tax cash may let trains run by 2029—while Longmont will host a related rail event on July 14 at 6:30 p.m. at the Longmont Museum Auditorium.
