Good morning, Longmont. Here's your local news at a glance for Thursday, the 5th of June.

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Former Longmont Mayor Bryan Baum died at age 66 on June 4 after fighting cancer. Leaders and friends remembered his long service to the city and said his Celebration of Life will be held July 20 at Flanders Park (2115 North Shore Drive) from 2 to 5 p.m.  Longmont Times-Call
  • Longmont City Council met Tuesday evening and debated if the city should charge landing fees at the local airport as pilots and small-business advocates warned that new costs could hurt aviation programs.
