  • The Longmont Humane Society honored volunteers by inviting them to add their painted handprints to a mural wall in the lobby for National Volunteer Appreciation Week—this event took place on May 2 at 5:41 p.m. MDT as noted in a press release.  Longmont Times-Call

  • Banner Health acquired seven Village Medical clinics in the region — the acquisition came weeks after dozens of providers left Village Medical for UCHealth.  Longmont Times-Call

CULTURE NEWS

  • Audrey Lewis—volunteer at the Colorado Therapeutic Riding Center in southeast Longmont—began repurposing metal bits and leather from old bridles into wind chimes on April 23 while sorting donations for a used tack sale. Her creative process shows a local effort to turn donations into art.  Longmont Times-Call

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Students at Cimarron Middle School learned about organ donation during National Donate Life month and saw a new mural in the gym honoring former student Molly, who donated six organs to save lives. The school held lessons and conversations to teach the importance of giving life — the mural is meant to keep her memory alive.  CBS Colorado
