EDUCATION NEWS

  • Boulder’s Bluebird School offers teens a free music program at Broadway Music Studios on Wednesday evenings. The course teaches songwriting and band skills and ends with a performance at Rosetta Hall on April 16 while the Future Arts Foundation readies an arts café + expands local arts.  Colorado Hometown Weekly

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Denver Water has enforced stage 1 drought restrictions since March 25 to limit outdoor watering to twice a week (assigned by address number) as neighboring communities plan similar measures, while Longmont remains under a Drought Watch and urges residents to use water wisely.  CBS Colorado
  • Communities across Colorado, including Longmont, face high fire danger due to unseasonably warm temperatures and dry conditions. Local officials urge residents to prepare for wildfire risks (warnings remain in effect today).  CBS Colorado

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The board proposed the Front Range Passenger Rail to link Fort Collins and Pueblo — with stops including Longmont — offering up to 10 round trips daily at 79 mph. Funding is set to be decided in November and operations are planned to begin by 2029.  CBS Colorado

HEALTH NEWS

  • Rocky Mountain Children's unveiled a teen lounge inspired by former patient Ryan Austin at its Presbyterian St. Luke's facility this week. The space features video games, board games, a putting green and a movie projector and was developed with help from Shea's Village Foundation and Rocky Mountain Children's Health Foundation.  CBS Colorado
