ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • On Tuesday, a Boulder County web camera caught an osprey perched on a nesting platform at Cattail Pond near the Fairgrounds just before 10 a.m. — it rested for about an hour before leaving while another osprey was seen around 12:15 p.m. and flew off amid strong winds.  Colorado Hometown Weekly

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The Boulder County Sheriff’s Office is seeking volunteer victim advocates to help crime and accident victims. Selected volunteers will attend 40 hours of training on Tuesday and Thursday evenings and Saturdays from April 15 until May 3 — applications must be submitted by 5 p.m. on March 26.  Colorado Hometown Weekly
  • Young people can now apply to be a leader with the Boulder County Youth Corps — a county press release from March 18 said the role offers summer work and leadership training.  Colorado Hometown Weekly

HEALTH NEWS

  • Savage Pet of El Cajon recalled a lot of raw chicken pet food—best-by date November 15th—from shipments in several states including Colorado after tests linked the product to bird flu in cats. Two cats fell ill and died from H5N1 while another was exposed—officials advised pet owners to avoid feeding raw products.  Colorado Hometown Weekly
