  • Trader Joe's says about 61,500 bottles of Gerolsteiner sparkling water sold from December 27th, 2024 to January 28th, 2025 in 12 states may be cracked and cause lacerations—customers in Longmont should check their bottles and return any affected ones to their nearest store for a refund.  CBS Colorado

  • Colorado police are stepping up DUI enforcement for St. Patrick's Day weekend—troopers will set up sobriety checkpoints in communities including Longmont to reduce impaired driving.  CBS Colorado

CULTURE NEWS

  • Movie lovers gathered at the Longmont Museum’s Stewart Auditorium on Friday for the opening night of the 21st Boulder International Film Festival—featuring live music by The Harriman Sisters and a sold-out screening of short films. Officials said the museum will host a variety of films through Sunday that give local audiences a chance to enjoy screenings close to home.  Colorado Hometown Weekly
  • Longmont will host a group art show by East Boulder County Artists (the Studio Tour Preview Show) at The Great Frame Up on Main Street until May 2 as part of their spring tour.  Colorado Hometown Weekly

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Boulder County and Longmont officials begin several roadway and utility projects today—CDOT will work on Colo. 119 with completion expected in spring 2027 while northbound Coffman Street will have mobility improvements until May 13. Other projects, including sewer work on County Road 5, waterline and bridge replacement in Erie, concrete repairs on Arapahoe Road, traffic signal updates at Sheridan Parkway and Ridgeview Drive, and a full closure of Telleen Avenue for utility work today, will cause lane restrictions and detours until late May or August.  Longmont Times-Call
